DAvid Farrington

David is a co-founder and partner at Techdeal.com. He has represented numerous technology companies, both large and small, in a broad variety of corporate matters, including corporate formation, stock option plans and agreements, stock purchase agreements and mergers and acquisitions and in a variety of transactions, including customer, reseller and supplier agreements, and technology development, distribution, and licensing agreements

David’s prior experience includes:


General Counsel and Vice President Corporate Development, WebEx Communications, Inc., David's responsibilities included taking the company public in 2000, serving as its general counsel for 7 years as a public company listed on NASDAQ, managing the company’s M&A activity and strategic transactions, and managing the sale of the company to Cisco Systems, Inc. in 2007.


Partner, Skjerven, Morrill, Macpherson. David was the head of the Business Group at Skjerven, Morrill, which at the time was the largest law firm in San Jose, California, capital of Silicon Valley. David specialized in technology development, distribution and licensing and corporate transactions.


Associate General Counsel and Senior Director, Corporate Development, Apple, Inc. David worked for Apple for over 8 years and held a variety of senior positions including managing legal support for Apple’s worldwide sales and marketing organizations, managing the Technology Law Group and leading several strategic corporate development initiatives.


David has also represented technology companies for some of the world’s leading law firms, including Ware & Friedenrich, which merged into DLA Piper and Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman.


Sean Wani

Sean is a Co-Founder and Partner at techdeal.com. He is a seasoned entrepreneur and attorney, providing legal, sales and business development assistance to technology companies. Sean can help you develop sales, licensing or channel strategies for your product or service, as well as investigate and complete, complex transactions with strategic partners

Sean is currently OpenGov's General Counsel where he manages all of OpenGov's legal affairs.

Prior to OpenGov Sean was General Counsel at Ayasdi. Prior to Ayasdi, Sean was at Zuora where he led its legal team for close to eight years. Sean has been active in the tech community by virtue of his twenty five years of work experience with many of the icons of Silicon Valley. Sean began his career at Oracle, working in the legal department as a contract negotiator while attending law school at night. Sean completed his J.D. while working at Apple, where he served in various legal and business roles for 7 years. After Apple, Sean worked with established technology leaders like Intuit, WebEx, Cisco, Ventro/Chemdex, and Paul Allen’s incubator, Interval Research, as well as startups like Brivo, Lumiata and thinkingVOICE.

Sean earned his B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley and holds his J.D. From Santa Clara University.
